The revolution of the electronic strike

OPENERS & CLOSERS electronic electric strikes are the disruptive innovation in the evolution of electric electric strikes or electric strikes.

Its development began in 2012, but it was not until two years later that we presented the first version at the Essen Fair in Germany to great acclaim.

Over the last ten years we have refined every detail and improved its usability with the enhancements our customers needed.

OPENERS & CLOSERS has reintroduced a second generation with a faster microchip and increased capacity to intelligently manage all functionalities. The electric strikes electronics allow to work in a voltage range of 6-28 V AC/DC with the particularity of a 100%ED continuous operation in both AC and DC.

Its great versatility makes it an all-in-one solution. The electronic electric strikes facilitate the management of purchases, substantially reduce stocks with fewer variants, but above all, improve the comfort of our customers in the facilities. They offer the peace of mind that they will work in any current range they are in, saving time in the installation and reducing displacements.

Featured Solutions: Side Pressure, Temperature and Consumption

The only ones able to unlock doors with lateral pressures up to 500N in alternating and direct current, with a minimum hum of 65-69db at 0.4 seconds.

The lateral pressure on the doors is usually one of the most common incidents in the installation, due to the fact that the doors are getting heavier, they block hermetically for greater insulation or there are numerous casuistry that generate this thrust force. With the electronic electric strikes the opening is programmed with a microchip so that it does not happen.

The electronic electric strikes is also notable for its temperature control, limited to 40ºC. Temperature is a vitally important feature for the inverter models found in most positive security access controls. These models are continuously powered and can increase the temperature of the mechanism to as high as 70ºC at times. The limiter incorporated in the electronic electric strikes does not allow exceeding 40ºC in order to extend the life of the mechanism and prevent the heat radiation from passing to faceplate or the door frame, something that can be especially uncomfortable and risky in metal frames.

The power consumption of the electronic electric strikes represents a significant saving of 80% in inverse models where the power supply must be permanently connected.

Here are two examples of consumption:

  • At 12 V DC the normal consumption of a electric strike would be about 0.28 A compared to a electronic strike which would be about 0.04 A. In this case the consumption would be 86% lower.
  • At 24 V DC the normal consumption of a electric strike would be about 0.12 A compared to a electronic strike which would be about 0.02 A. In this case we would be in a consumption of 80% less.

Apart from the power consumption, the operation at voltages as low as 6 volts makes them ideal for systems such as video door phones as they can be powered from the same power supply without having to add more complexity to the system.
