Door control systems operate at critical junctions within a building. They regulate access, preserve compartmentation, enable evacuation and interact with broader safety strategies. Their behavior directly influences how a building responds under stress.

In these contexts, responsibility cannot be limited to supplying components. It requires defining predictable behavior across mechanical, electrical and control layers before the system is ever installed.

A door must resist intrusion without obstructing escape. It must remain stable under repeated daily cycles while responding immediately under abnormal conditions. Power loss, signal failure, misuse or emergency activation are not exceptional events; they are scenarios that must be anticipated and engineered for.

Technical accountability means assuming responsibility for how the system behaves when conditions deviate from normal operation. It means defining not only what the system does, but how it fails, how it releases and how it recovers.

Responsibility is not an abstract value. It is a design parameter.
